INTRODUCING

Damian Turner

Damian Turner is a seasoned sports event executive with a career spanning over three decades across finance, aviation, and global sports promotion. Beginning in London’s financial sector during the 1990s, Damian transitioned into international sports management with World Sports Group in Hong Kong, where he oversaw Asian Tour golf tournaments and the HK Cricket Sixes.

In 2003, he moved to South Africa for the ICC Cricket World Cup, managing commercial branding across 17 stadia in three countries. After earning an aviation qualification from Cranfield University and working as a commercial helicopter pilot in South Africa and the United States, Damian returned to Asia to lead events for Parallel Media Group, including the Ballantine’s Championship in South Korea.

He played a pivotal role in the London 2012 Olympics as part of LOCOG, overseeing temporary overlay across the Olympic Park. Post-Games, Damian joined the European Tour (DP World Tour) in the UAE, helping establish the DP World Tour Championship over an eight-year tenure. His recent leadership includes the Ryder Cup in Paris (2018) and Rome (2023), and serving as Championship Director for the Genesis Championships in Korea (2024 & 2025).
